Being Mic’d Up is Not Enough

With college football bowl season and the NFL playoffs close, lots of eyes will be on big games. During these games, players and coaches are sure to see and share viral clips of powerful mic’d up moments of leadership. We love these moments. However, we want players to understand that this is only a tiny portion of what real leadership looks like. It is not the only thing or the thing that makes you a leader. Being a successful communicator, motivator, and encourager in the brightest lights is a culmination of so many behind the scenes leadership moments that have built up over time, and we want to coach our athletes up on this fact because those parts of leadership are not seen on TV. We hope this episode can be a great learning experience for your players.

Many fall into the trap of thinking their actions alone will inspire change, but leadership demands more. Lock in as we break down why leading by example is only the starting point, not the full playbook.
