Quince Orchard: Building Championship Teams with Lead ‘Em Up

Starting out in 2018 the Quince Orchard football program led by Coach Kelley decided to go all in on Lead ‘Em Up.

Over the next few years, the players fully leaned into the program and it helped elevate the Cougars to back-to-back championships in 2021 and 2022.

During those years the players got verified, demonstrated great excitement in building their green team had TWO Green 13 winners. They were all in.

Other teams couldn’t help but notice and they began expressing interest.

It started with Coach Smorse with Girls Volleyball, then girls soccer then baseball and at that point, Athletic Director Jeff Rabberman invested in the program for all their varsity teams.

At this point, everybody was speaking the language and athletes were growing in their leadership not just in one season, but all seasons. This level of development and focus throughout the athletic program was leveling up these athletes in a way like never before.

Just to show you a glimpse into the excitement, the students even put a centerfold page in their yearbook spotlighting Lead ‘Em Up and the Green Team

Five years later the athletic program is still all in on Lead ‘Em Up and every player knows the language. The standard has been raised and remains raised.

Have fun and #LeadEmUp

Ep. 150: When ‘I Did My Best’ Isn’t Good Enough

In this episode, we unpack one of the most commonly used phrases for coaches: “We did our best.” While it sounds helpful, this mindset can quietly become a limitation, a way to excuse results instead of pursuing excellence. We’ll explore how settling for your “best” can be dangerous when it becomes a cover for lack of growth, preparation, or accountability.
